Our first Barn of 09 on Sept 6

Everyone is welcome to join us Sunday night, Nov. 1 at the Barn for our Fall Hymn Sing with Indelible Grace musician and Independent artist Jeremy Casella.  The 5:30PM BBQ (catered by Skinners Chicken) is $7 for Non-Erskine students, while the 6:30PM music ministry event is FREE for everyone.  Bring a blanket and/or camp chair and enjoy a brisk Fall evening at Erskine with friends in fellowship together, singing some of the great hymns of the Christian church!

Meanwhile, on other Sunday nights .....

Our fall Bible study at the Barn is studying the traditional "7 Deadly Sins," but from a reformed perspective.  "7 Sins of the Wounded Heart" is a series that reveals how sin-prone the human heart is and how eagerly it gives itself to be enslaved to these 7 typical "tripping points" in life:  Lust, Sloth, Pride, Anger, Envy, Greed, and Gluttony.  By the power of the Gospel alone, we can experience the grace of forgiveness and the power of transformation, turning these "tripping points" into possible "turning points" in life.  This is good news for all of us to hear and consider!

Erskine Sends 53 to RUF Conference

We sent a great group to Camp Greystone for the Southeastern Collegiate retreat Sept 19-21, actually the largest group of all 13 campuses represented.  Our music team from the Barn led music for the 300 college students and did a great job.  We enjoyed Andy Jones speaking on the "Holy Spirit" and our group really got to know one another better through the small group discussion on the speakers questions.

Special thanks goes to the ARP Student Union at Erskine for committing their limited resources given to them by the General Synod each year to help provide scholarships to assist Erskine students to attend the $90 per person conference.  Their gifts, as well as gifts from a few churches and young alumni helped to provide 50% scholarships for all our students as well as several 100% scholarships for those with exceptional needs.  The conference was definitely worth it!
